Requirements for Good Standing
Aiming to become a member in good standing of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) is a process. It is not an overnight achievement where some people can be granted easy and no sweat shortcuts. Once you are given the label of Member in Good Standing by the Membership Committee, you should be proud of it because YOU EARNED IT.
Now, lets go back to the basic question. How does one become a member in good standing?
A Member in Good Standing, is the status assigned to a member of the PDS when he or she has complied with the following requirements:
- (1) Updated or current on Annual dues which cover a 12-month period. Deadline for this years Annual dues payment will be on May 31, 2013.
- (2) Being a member in good standing affirms the members commitment to the vision of the PDS, as reflected in its Constitution and By-laws and Code of Ethics, to which all members are bound.
- (3) Attendance to the Annual Convention is a must and participation in the Annual Business Meeting either by personal appearance or by proxy.
- (4) Lastly, a member must attend at least one (1) Continuing Medical Education (CME)activity organized by PDS in Manila or in any PDS Chapter in your area.
It is expected that members in good standing will work collaboratively to strengthen the Society and will not engage in any activities that will put the PDS in financial or structural jeopardy, nor engage in any activities that will bring discredit to the Society.
We welcome each member to periodically call our Secretariat to know his or her individual status. For any membership concerns, kindly email our Membership Committee Chair, Dr. Cecilia Roxas- Rosete via email@example.com.
